Japan’s first half: PSP reigns king of hardware, Mario Kart tops software

Enterbrain of Japan has finished tallying their results for the total hardware and software sales for the period of March 31 to September 28. This time period marks the first half of 2008’s fiscal year in Japan.

PSP: 1,583,731 units
DS: 1,314,919 unitsWii: 1,105,174 unitsPS3: 352,457 units360: 138,740 unitsOh yes, the PSP reigns king of the hill. Over one and a half million units in six months’ time? Man, that’s deep. And to think these are numbers from Japan alone!
Meanwhile, on the software side of things, it’s a different story. Nintendo dominates the charts with games for the Wii and DS, with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G managing to grind its way to second place though.
